Is a mini-split the same as a heat pump?
A mini-split describes a system with separate indoor and outdoor units. A heat-pump mini-split provides both heating and cooling; cooling-only models also exist. Confirm both functions when comparing equipment.
Can I keep my boiler or furnace?
It may be possible to keep your existing heating as backup. The right approach depends on its condition, your home's heating needs and the proposed heat pump. Any incentive requirements should be checked before deciding to remove equipment.
Will a heat pump lower my energy bill?
Savings depend on your current fuel, electricity rates, insulation, equipment efficiency and how you use the system. A lower bill should not be assumed from the equipment label alone. Compare expected operating costs alongside the installation estimate.
What should I include in my estimate request?

How long does installation take?
